Women in Mathematics poster in isiXhosa

We are very proud to be able to present to you the newest translation of the Women in Mathematics poster, now available in isiXhosa. Xhosa is one of the official languages of South Africa and is spoken by more than 20 million people. The translation, coordinated by Prof. Karin-Therese Howell from the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the University of Stellenbosch, has been completed with the tireless contributions of the volunteers Dirk Bester, Comari Schoeman, Lesley Wessels, and The Stellenbosch University Language Centre.

We believe that new words had to be formed in the language to accurately convey mathematical notions! Check out their work here: https://www.ewmnetherlands.nl/projects/women-in-mathematics-poster/

The poster is now available in 20 languages, with another 12 in preparation. We are still looking for volunteers for the following languages: Armenian, Bengali, Bosnian, Danish, Estonian, Georgian, Kosovar, Latvian, Luxembourgish, Lithuanian, Moldovan, Montenegrin, Norwegian, Romanian, and Swiss German.
