Caroline Jagtenberg, who recently won the prestigious Jo van Nunen Award for her thesis “Efficiency and Fairness in Ambulance planning”, has been awarded an NWO Rubicon grant. She will do research at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) for a period of two years.
Jagtenberg’s research focuses on ambulance management. For emergency services, a quick response time is of vital importance. Jagtenberg will create mathematical models to analyze the interaction between different types of emergency vehicles. She will also research how emergency services can be optimized when a driver and an emergency physician leave from different locations
