Annual Meeting 2021: The Importance of Networking
12 November 2021
We are excited to announce the programme of our 2021 Annual Meeting! After having lost personal contact in the past year and a half, it’s time to reconnect! The event is free, hybrid, and open to all.
When: 12 November 2021, 12.30-17.30
Where: Utrecht University
We bring the mathematical community together to discuss networking. This encompasses best practices nationally and internationally, how to get involved, and what are the benefits of networking for a career in academia.
Our speakers, Dr. Vanessa Magnanimo and Dr. Eugenie Hunsicker, will share their experience in leading active and successful university and national level networks connecting female mathematicians. The Female Faculty Network Twente is one of the leading examples of active national associations supporting women in academia. The London Mathematical Society’s Committee for Women and Diversity in Mathematics has a prominent role in Europe in promoting broader diversity practices in mathematics. Both networks engage in an impressive and inspirational host of activities.
The second half of the event will be mainly dedicated to the open discussion of the best practices in networking and activities, that would be most beneficial for you. We would like to hear your opinion on how EWM-NL can better address the needs of our members. Please post questions you may have for the speakers, ideas for activities you propose that EWM-NL undertakes, or needs you may wish for help with at the appropriate field of the registration form.
The event will be held at Utrecht University and the location will be emailed to registered participants shortly before the event.
